Apple has launched a new repair program for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus that may not turn on due to a faulty component. The affected devices were sold between October 2018 and August 2019 and users can check their serial numbers on the Apple support website to see if their devices are qualified.

Customers with a suitable iPhone model can have their devices repaired for free by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

The repair program “covers the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices affected for 2 years after the unit’s first retail sale“, which means that owners will be covered until August 2021, depending on the date of purchase.

How to check if your iPhone 6s/6s Plus can participate in the Apple repair program. One of the nice things about Apple repair programs is that the company has made it incredibly easy to find out if you are eligible for the program or not, all you have to do is:

If you qualify, Apple recommends contacting Apple Support or going to an Apple Store or authorized Apple service provider. Also, if you are eligible for the repair program and have already paid to complete the repair, you can contact Apple to receive a refund for that repair.
